Hello Emma, how fabulous to hear you reading it..i’ve been reading it to myself out loud during the last month or so, the words fit in with the rythm of the sea….i already knew the writing was fabulous..how different it sounds not in a Cornish accent (my accent)….which is a whole other aspect to “Your place or mine”, the rythm of the accents and dialect and how it affects the poems..if i knew how to do a video clip on the blog, i would read your poem in my accent..it still travels, and of course we have the sea in common, and with your subject in particular, it’s as relevant here in Cornwall as it is up there in Cumbria, London etc etc…i’d love to hear different verses of the first voice read by the other poets in the different accents, just as an experiment in “The Poetry Travel Agency”. like the other comments, i would love to see films of the other voices, as in my imagination, i always saw them in places, from a bed, a desk, a doorway. Beautiful work.
