Hiya,

Sorry I’m late! It’s like arriving last to a party….so I should say the tube was delayed?:) Apologies it’s taken me so long to finally post, I’ve enjoyed reading your words already and love Jay’s Allotment stuff – cool wellies too:)

I got asked to go to Australia for a short work thing (a total one off), and it was amazing… it also got me over my fear of flying – thanks to a hypnotherapist with a dodgy wig. I kept thinking I’d shout out ‘ you’re wearing a rug!’ but would I remember if I had?!

It’s interesting how places do affect the way you think/feel/behave and how that perspective manifests itself when you get back home…. so I’ve been making loads of changes in my life the last few weeks, and have many ideas for new poems. Have you ever written notes in total darkness, so you couldn’t read what you were writing, then looked at them a few weeks later and been amazed at some of the phrases scrawled down? I recommend it! The day after I flew to Oz, I spent a night on a balcony looking out onto a vast expanse of landscape in the wine valley…. it was so dark & immense that I wanted to watch the light as day broke. Either poetic inspiration/me being a ‘drippy hippy’/jetlag:)  Anyway, I scribbled some words down, and only just looked at them properly and was intrigued by what was there – so you could try it one day:)

Anyway, hope you enjoyed whatever space you spent the festive time in, and that you shared it with people you chose rather than had to tolerate:) I wish you whatever your heart desires for the New Year and look forward to reading more in this place about each project.

Phew I’m glad I at least got to log on properly and post before the year was out! x
