What I really loved about this one is the careful assemblage of the visuals and audio so they layer with the words you’re hearing – creating a whole in which visual/audio/text work together. It seemed to me a strong way forward for poetry to be presented online – making the most of film techniques and really using that medium to support the piece as a whole. I especially like the bit where the viewer is reading the words being typed out on the typewriter – nice mix of retro technology and new technology together, and the black lines being drawn back by Byron’s hand? Excellent stuff. Would like to see more work like this – are there any websites where you can check it out?

Sorry its taken me ages to reply, I’m in PC purgatory as you know. I think there are sites dedicated to poetry films. This was our first effort and as such I reckon could be greatly improved. I do hope to work with film again, the process is far more drawn out and time consuming than I’d imagined, but if I can capture some of the spontaneity of performance I reckon next time I’ll do a better job.
Thanks for watching

warning. do not, as I did, watch this with head phones in a coffeehouse, as you are apt to:
a. snort hot black coffee out your nose and onto your very precious laptop
b. continue to laugh out loud and make the other patrons edgy
as I did.

Sorry its taken me ages to reply, I’ve been my PC appears to have become sentient and has apparently decided it hates me.
Hope projectile coffee snorting didn’t cause you too much expense.
Glad you liked it.
Cheers for watching

Nice work Byron and Phil. I can’t get the Spock/Shatner loop out of my head now though – I might have to go and watch Star Trek. Great stuff, I stroked my chin, thought about solitude and laughed.

Nice one Byron. Apparently brain worms are a problem for people with OCD. Not that Im saying you have OCD of course
)
I suffer from poetic brainworms. They are less satisfying than musical brainworms
See you at Big Greeeenn
