Worth a click:)

Reading on here about other writers’ methods of writing is fascinating…. and we all have similar quirks which is reassuring for such a solitary pursuit. (Nice to know I’m not the only freak!) As the muse/urge to write can lose its’ signal and leave us floundering for minutes/hours or longer – we need distractions. Fridges are a good place to start, and is it just me – but even though I know what’s in there…. I still go and open the door and gaze in – as if someone might have replaced the contents with a buffet of surprise cheesecakes and bannoffee pies. Often we turn to other’s words in books or online, and I have a few recommendations that I was given recently that are definitely worth a click when you’re in that headspace and have already checked your email 37 times in an hour….

www.learningtoloveyoumore.com made by Miranda July – it may have closed for now for submissions but is worth a look for a rollcall of exercises as random asĀ  ‘Make a portrait of your friend’s desires’ or ‘Feel the news’ …which means I need to find an MP’s moat to paddle in….

http://www.noonebelongsheremorethanyou.com/ this is her take on a traditional blog, where she writes on a kitchen stove and photographs it one line at a time. Very ecofriendly, saving trees etc, and I love seeing handwriting online – like Jay’s notebooks here – it just makes it so much more personal.

http://yhchang.com/ this site is worth a random hit on any of the titles and you’ll find korean drums animating words across the screen. Like the article above, it makes me know that as soon as I can learn how to download photos etc I’ll be making my posts here more visually stimulating than at the moment….honestly. For now I wish I could stick a sticker or two on here that would miraculously appear on your screen… one day I’m sure that will be possible.

Inspired writing/clicking/distracting yourself then going back into a piece you’re working on feeling revitalised and refreshed in your perspective. Well, that’s what I tell myself I’m doing by clicking on all these sites, don’t you?
